4th Annual Topsham American Legion Bike Show - Sagadahoc County 2008

Spring Sun once again shone on Sagadahoc county, and Maine ’s first Outdoor Bike Show of the Season.

The fourth annual event was at the Topsham American Legion Post on April 26th, beginning at 11:00 a.m.  Although somewhat cool when setup began at eight that morning, by the beginning of registration’s at 10:00 the sky was clear and the day was warming up nicely.

27 bikes entered, with each class presenting at least one trophy.  For the past three years attendees have been campaigning with the organizers to include a “RAT” class, and it was finally added for 2008 with one machine entered (Ironically enough, not the one who’d been asking all these years!).

The Topsham “Legion Riders” once again ran the food concession, selling Hot dogs and Hamburgers to support their ongoing effort helping Homeless Vets.  Executive board Products assistant Cheryl Grass had the UBM trailer out again, and Bruce and Becky Seigars had their “REGROUP MOTORCYCLE EDUCATION” bus out to promote their program, and fly the flag for Safe and Responsible operation of bikes.

Hancock County - March 2008:
The lady in the left hand corner with the Newfoundland dog and her husband are volunteers @ the Penobscot Nursing Home. They renew their vows every year in March and they let the residents choose the theme for their wedding renewal vows.

This year the residents chose a Biker theme due to an experience a couple of residents had with one of our grand statesman from Hancock County (Carl Torchio). Last September @ the Blue Hill Fair, he helped one of the ladies get her vehicle out of a pretty tough parking spot and Carl, being quite the charmer made a big impression on the ladies.

More to Come!
